Our Model

Hudson Valley Justice Center prioritizes the provision of legal assistance through partnerships with community organizing groups. This model of legal service delivery allows us to ensure that our legal representation supports efforts to advance social and economic justice through collective action and empowerment.
We seek out and partner with community-based organizations and grassroots efforts to build leadership and power within the Hudson Valley’s low-income communities, particularly immigrants, the working poor, communities of color and others who are traditionally excluded from local and regional power structures.
We aim to have greater relevance and impact in our work through the guidance of our partners in identifying program priorities and by supporting leadership development, power building and the advancement of issue campaigns.  Within this partnership model, Hudson Valley Justice Center provides direct legal assistance, representation in impact oriented litigation and legislative advocacy.
