The Emergency Rental Assistance Program or ERAP of New York State is open as of June 1st, 2021 and is accepting applications to provide economic relief to households on the risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability by providing temporary rental assistance.
Hudson Valley Justice Center is able to help the applicant fill out their application and ensure it is properly submitted and responded to. HVJC is not responsible for the distribution of funds and the determination of eligibility, however they are able to help with the application understanding and process.

The City of Rochester and Monroe County, the City of Yonkers, Onondaga County and the towns of Hempstead, Islip and Oyster Bay opted to administer their own programs from the funding received from the federal government. Residents of these communities must apply with their local programs for emergency rental assistance and are NOT eligible for assistance from the state-administered Emergency Rental Assistance Program. We may not be able to help you if you reside in any of those communities but we may be able to refer you to your local programs.
